This is the original one sheet poster (aprox. 26" by 40") for
Educating Father
(1936), the second in the series of 17 popular
Jones Family
comedies. This picture starred
Jed Prouty, Shirley Deane, Dixie Dunbar, Tony Martin
and
Spring Byington
. This was directed by
James Tinling
for Fox. This poster was folded for shipping to theaters, and it's condition is
Very Good to Excellent
(Great shape, but it measures 26" by 40" so I suspect that a white border was trimmed off. There are a few pieces of paper tape on the back to re-inforce a couple of tears at the ends of the fold lines, tiny splits at the fold intersections and a few splits on the vertical fold line). Please see the reference to grading standards in the last paragraph. This poster was purchased from the inventory of
Collectors Bookstore
in Hollywood, when they decided to close their doors and retire.
It is an authentic and genuine theatrical poster, not a reproduction!
Payment is required within 5 days of auction close. Insurance is included in the shipping cost. Shipping can be combined for multiple purchases. Returns are accepted only if the item is mis-represented.
We will be placing most of the posters that we will be offering on ebay under one of three general condition categories...
Very Good to Excellent
(Very nice condition, may have a few minor flaws),
Good to Very Good
(Used, but not abused, shows some wear, several flaws), and
Good
(Obviously well used, many flaws). The most widely accepted standard for grading the condition of movie posters is that of
Jon Warren. I am not a grading expert, so I will offer a general and conservative estimate of the grade based upon Warren's system and trust that you will make your own evaluation based upon the large photograph provided.
