  • Condition: This original movie Lobby Card exhibits superb details right down to Chaplin's classic eyes. There are no recognizable flaws; the Lobby Card appears flawless. The main issue is that the Lobby Card has ben trimmed on all sides, reducing it size from 11" x 14" to 10" x 13". However, we graded the Lobby Card without letting the trimming adversely affect the "appearance and condition" grade of the Lobby Card. In some circles, trimming of an original Lobby Card or movie poster is viewed as a major flaw. We will let the buyer decide. However, if the trimming were to be considered in the grading, the Lobby Card would receive a C6, Fine grade. There may be slight toning of the Lobby Card, which is minor loss of the sheen in the color - not the loss of color. There are no pin holes, no tears, no tape or tape residue, and no soiling or smudges. There is no loss of paper (except for the trimming) and no loss of color. It is very "rich" looking. Please review the photos carefully.

    This is the Original 1931 Movie Lobby Card
    CITY LIGHTS
    .  It was used by
    United Artists
    to promote this movie when it was released in 1931.   This Lobby Card is not a reprint nor a reproduction.  The movie stars
    Charles Chaplin
    , Virginia Cherrill, Florence Lee, Harry Myers, Hank Mann, Jean Carpenter, Victor Alexander, Harry Ayers, and Jean Harlow.
    It was directed by Charles Chaplin.
    This unrestored movie Lobby Card measures 10" x 134".    It has been trimmed down on all sides, but not into the image, leaving it at 10" x 13".
    It comes with an unattached stiff cardboard backing.
    This original movie Lobby Card is graded C8, Very Fine.
    Original movie Lobby Cards are graded as follows from the top down: C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Fine/Very Fine), C6 (Fine or Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), C4 (Good), etc.   The Lobby Card has a very presentable appearance and could immediately be framed and presented for display with excellent results.   There are markings on the reverse but they do not bleed through to the front of the Lobby Card.  The colors are still strong and the details are superb as well.  There are really no flaws to speak of, except again some possible toning and the "trimming".   Thus we feel that with all said a grade of C8 is representative and reasonable of what you see and get with this
