COQUETTE Original Movie Lobby Card, 11" x 14", C6.5 Fine Plus

$ 208.56

Availability: 86 in stock
  • Condition: This original, unrestored movie Lobby Card displays very good colors and excellent details of the images on a presentable background. The flaws that exist are somewhat obtrusive, particularly the minor soling that protrudes into the image - that being the minor faintish soiling that goes into Ms. Pickford's face. There is minor soling and aging throughout the Lobby Card. There are pin holes in all 4 corners to the extent that there is a little paper missing at the corners. There is a pin hole at the bottom border. There is some tape residue/smudge at the top through the "Y" in "MARY". There are 2 1" tears on the right border but they do not extend into the image area. There are tiny (1/8") chips at the bottom right and bottom left corners. There are no smudges and no loss of color or paper, except for the paper noted at the corner pinholes. Restoration would certainly benefit this Lobby card, although - as is - it is still very presentable. Please review the photos carefully.

    Description

This is the Original (1sh) 1929 Lobby Card
    COQUETTE.
    It was used by
    United Artists
to promote this movie when it was released in 1929.  It is not a reprint nor a reproduction.  The movie stars
    Mary Pickford, Johnny Mack Brown
, Matt Moore, John St. Polis, and William Janney.  It was directed by Sam Taylor.
This unrestored movie Lobby Card measures 11" x 14".
It comes with an unattached stiff cardboard backing.
This original movie Lobby Card is graded C6.5, Fine Plus.
Original movie Lobby Cards are graded as follows from the top down: C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Fine/Very Fine), C6 (Fine or Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), C4 (Good), etc.   Generally, this original Lobby card has a presentable appearance, but there are flaws in the image area which are obtrusive (as described above).  This Lobby Card would be a good candidate for restoration.  If you are interested in this Lobby Card and would also be interested in having it restored, just let us know.  We can have it restored by one of the professional restoration companies that we use and simply add that cost to the sales price.  Given the condition of the Lobby Car and its flaws which would need restoration, we estimate that the restoration could be between 0 to 0.  Possibly less, not more.  Or we could refer you to one of the restoration companies that we use for you to deal with them directly.
That said, for a 90 year old Lobby Card, this original Lobby Card of
    COQUETTE
has survived nicely and could be displayed as is, with very good results - it is very presentable.  Proper framing would help to alleviate at least the flaws (pin holes, chips, soiling) that occur along the borders.
We believe that the original Lobby Card of
    COQUETTE
has excellent investment value.  Mary Pickford was a very popular silent film star who moved into talking films with
    COQUETTE
being one of her movies with sound.
Complete prints of the film still exist. In the 1990s it was restored by the Library of Congress and The Mary Pickford Institute (source Wikipedia).  Original movie memorabilia for
    COQUETTE
are quite rare, or at least we have not seen too many original items for this movie.
We ship using USPS Priority Mail, which for Domestic buyers arrives in 1 to 3 business days.  Both Domestic and International buyers can go to the "See Details" link on this listing across from the Shipping information to determine shipping cost, delivery method, and time to arrive.  However, USPS Media Mail cannot be used for movie posters according to USPS regulations.
If you have any questions, please let me know.  I have been collecting original movie posters for over 30 years.  I understand that buyers, like myself, expect representations of items for sale that are accurate, complete, and truthful.   The photos are of the actual item you will be buying.  We do  not use "stock" photos.  If you are not 100% satisfied, we guarantee a full refund.  No problem.
Thanks for taking a look.  I have a number of other original movie posters and Lobby Cards listed and generally we are listing new items each week.
