This is a vintage Original 1-Sheet Poster used to advertise Gene Autry's 1936 western, The Singing Cowboy.
This poster is NOT a reproduction.
It was created to publicize the film at the time of its original release in 1936.
Take a look at this gorgeous poster. Great color! AN EXCELLENT CANDIDATE FOR LINEN BACKING!
This poster is in Very Good Condition. It has seen some use. The poster was once pinned or stapled up and then pulled off leaving holes where the thumbtacks or staples were. The best way to see these is to enlarge the photo and look along the borders - or within the borders - all the way around the poster for the holes. On the hole on the left side in Gene's red shirt, about half of the missing paper is actually folded behind and out of view. There are also worn spots / holes in the three center seams, but about half of the paper that appears missing in there, just folded back behind and out of view of the photo. There is a three inch tear at the bottom center border, but a good deal of the paper that appears missing there is also folded behind. There is a 2" horseshoe shape tear in Gene's hand - no paper missing. And a bit of missing border on lower right side. Beyond this are some general dents, tiny tears on borders, and folded corners.
