Original Paramount Pictures Insert Poster (14x36) for the Alfred E. Green silent horror comedy, THE GHOST BREAKER (1922) starring Wallace Reid, Lila Lee, and Walter Hiers. The idea of the ghost-vanquishers did not originate with the fabulous eighties film with Bill Murray and Dan Ackroyd. Rather the story had been mined several times. And with good reason for it has a natural appeal - supernatural foes can be dispatched with human ingenuity, technology and a sense of humor. In this 1922 version, a young man and his manservant are persuaded by a young heiress to help her rid her newly gained Spanish castle of ghosts. This unusual and rare insert poster was in decent native condition but has been made beautiful for framing with restoration and paper-backing. The poster was washed and de-acidified and minor touch up to a few distresses. This original insert poster has been restored to very fine condition.
