    MGM Original One-Sheet Poster for the movie LORD JEFF (1938) directed by Sam Wood. The film paired two of MGM's favorite adolescent performers, Freddie Bartholomew and Mickey Rooney. Bartholomew was English and was often, by virtue of his beautiful accent, assigned to play aristocratic English kids. He had made a sensation in MGM's CAPTAIN COURAGEOUS (1937) opposite Spencer Tracy. In this film, he's rescued from a life of crime by the resourceful Mickey Rooney, a classmate at a boy's school. All of this is directed by Sam Wood, one of MGM's most famous veteran directors. The poster is the style D one sheet and is an offset lithograph.
