Here is a  rare find - direct from the estate of a well known and regarded H. Rider Haggard collector.  A beautiful piece that shows well!
22" X 28" [Half-Sheet] - This rare item is a true vintage piece from the age of silents.
Joseph P. Kennedy presents Moon of Israel based on the novel by H. Rider Haggard;  directed by Michael Curtiz, starring Marie Corda and Arlette Marchal.  This Austrian movie was released in Europe in 1924, and released in the US to good reviews in 1927.  One of the most expensive Austrian films made to date, it featured new filming techniquesand  brought the director to the attention of Warner, launching the career of Curtiz (Oscar winner for Best Director - Casablanca).
While I know this has been displayed flat for at least 40-50 years, there are signs that it has been kept rolled for some time - a number of vertical stress marks.  There is no evidence of folding, and no pin holes, and I do not see any restoration.
There are three notable tears: 2 1/2" at bottom edge, 2" at right edge, and 3/4" at left edge.  There is a 3/4" strip of sun toning along top edge.  Edge wear which includes a corner crease at top left corner, a number of small tears, a "ding" at top edge, and stress marks.
