  • Condition: This original, rolled, movie poster displays excellent color with great detail of the images on a presentable background. The major flaws are mainly along the borders or are a tad difficult to see if in the image area. There are multiple tears along the bottom border (3 go into the image area). Of the 3: 1 is on the bottom right border 6" vertically into the image dark section; the 2nd tear is near the left corner 1" into the image area; and the 3rd one near the center bottom border 1/4" into the image area. There are also multiple chips and tears along the left and right borders. There is a 1/4" tear along the top image area with 1/4" of missing paper under the "K" in "KEATING". There are tiny dots (1/16" to 1/32") at the top to the right of "LINDA". There are similar tiny dots in the Title in the "T", "A", "I" and "N" of "TRAIN". Similar tiny dots in the "S", "O", and "N" in "PRISON". Low to low/medium gloss. Still a stunning original. Please review the photos carefully.

    to promote this movie when it was released in 1938.  It is not a reprint nor a reproduction.  The movie stars
    Fred Keating, Linda Winters (Dorothy Comingore), Clarence Muse, Faith Bacon
    , Alexander Leftwich, James Blakely, Franklyn Farnum, and Nestor Paiva.   It was directed by Gordon Wiles.
    This unrestored movie poster is Folded and measures 27" x 41".
    Most original movie posters that are pre-1985 are Folded.  This is not considered a flaw or defect.
    This original movie poster is graded C7.5, Very Fine Minus.
    Original movie posters are graded as follows from the top down: C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Fine/Very Fine), C6 (Fine or Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), C4 (Good), etc.   The main image is very presentable with a few relatively unobtrusive flaws; this near excellent main image is what gets this original movie poster to a C7.5 Very Fine Minus grade.
    This poster has a very clean appearance with no smudging, no soiling ad no stains.  The two main flaws are (1) the tears at the bottom of the poster on the border that extend several inches into the image area and (2) the 1/4" hole/tear that is at the upper half of the poster under the "K" in "KEATING.  The tears are visible but not overly obtrusive as the darker background tends to disguise them a bit.  The 1/4" hole is also in a dark background area so it does not "stick out"., but it to is visible.  If you place matting behind the poster prior to framing, a matting in the same color as the background where that 1/4" hole exist would go far to disguise it.
    The numerous flaws along the borders can be greatly alleviated with professional framing of this original movie poster.  In the relatively near future, we do plan to send this original movie poster out to be restored nd linen backed.  Once completed that will obviously increase the price of the poster to cover the cost of restoration and to reflect the increased value of a higher grade original movie poster.  When this original is sent out for restoration, we will de-list it. We expect that to be in a month or two (today being Feb 26, 2020).
    You can also purchase this poster as is at the lessor price, and you can have it restored yourself if you want.  We can also refer you to one of the two professional restoration companies that we use, if you so desire.
