SIGN OF THE CROSS 1932 Original VINTAGE LITHOGRAPH 1Sheet Movie Poster DeMille ColbertParamount Original One-Sheet Poster (slightly trimmed to 25.5 x 37.5 inches) - printed via Color Lithography
Original U.S. One Sheet for the Cecil B. DeMille-directed film THE SIGN OF THE CROSS (1932) starring Fredrich March, Claudette Colbert, Elisa Landi, Charles Laughton, Ian Kieth, John Carridine and Tom Ricketts.
Breathtakingly beautiful for this RARE 1932 Original Lithographic poster; brilliant colors, in plexiglass constructed frame; not examined out of the frame.
This pre-code epic altered between pandering the flesh-pots of ancient Rome and elevating the piety of the struggling Christian faith. The picture was famous for the scene where Colbert takes a milk bath. Fredrich March plays Marcus Superbus, a Roman Centurion. The film was made during the height of the depression, and DeMille famously cast a tremendous number of extras to provide jobs for out of work Hollywood extras. The movie was released by Paramount on November 30,
1932
and ran a little over two hours. When it was re-released,
post code
censors took the scissors to the racier parts. This
authentic U.S. one sheet for this famous and important film is EXTREMELY RARE. A similar one sold on Posteritati for the 1944 Re-Release for K.
