The Curse Of The Great Southwest (1913) US One Sheet Movie Poster LB - Very Rare!
This VERY early western poster has only sold only once before!
Remembered as the man who made rodeo famous across the globe, Charles Burton Irwin was a larger than life character that not only pursued life as a rancher and wild west showman, but also as the president of the Cheyenne Feature Film company. Inducted into the Cowboy Hall of Fame in 1905, Irwin’s love for the rodeo drove him to share the experience across the country through the traveling Irwin Brothers Wild West Show and created a handful of Westerns set at his expansive Y-6 ranch, where this particular film takes place. In fact, Irwin’s daughters Frances and Pauline appear as extras in the film, which also features the Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo festival, the largest in the world at the time and still among the highest attended today.
