  • Condition: This original Title Lobby Card, an early John Wayne role, exhibits rich colors with excellent detail of the images on a very clean background. One flaw that exists is generally obtrusive, that is one would probably notice them upon viewing the Lobby card at a reasonable distance. That flaw being the 6 "punch" holes that exist on the Lobby Card (see photos). Four of them are on the borders and the other two are in the image area. Of the 4 punch holes on the borders, two are on the left border and two on the right border. The other 2 - 1 is at the top left in the yellow background area, and 1 is on the right side in the back of the cowboy's purple vest. Each of the 6 punch holes is approximately 1/8" in diameter. There are also two small (1/8") at the top left, I above the "BL" in "REPUBLIC" and 1 below the "J" in "JOHN". There are no tears, no tape or tape residue, and no soiling or smudges. There is no loss of color. Low/medium gloss. Please review the photos carefully.

    This is the original (1sh) 1935 Title
    Lobby Card
    THE NEW FRONTIER,
    which was used to promote the film in theatres when it was released by
    Republic
    in 1935.   It is not a reprint nor a reproduction.   The movie stars J
    ohn Wayne, Muriel Evans, Warner Richmond
    , Al Bridge, Sam Flint, and Murdock MacQuarrie.  It was directed by Carl Pierson.
    This Title Lobby Card is Flat and measures 11" x 14".
    It comes with a stiff cardboard backing.
    This unrestored Title Lobby Card is graded C8, Very Fine.
    Original Lobby Cards, like original movie posters, are graded, from the top down, as C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Very Good to Very Fine), C6 (Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), etc.  It is difficult to find any C10 (Mint) original
    Lobby Cards pre 1985.  This Lobby Card has a superb appearance despite the presence of the 6 punch holes.  It is those 6 punch holes that prevent this Title Lobby card from being graded a C8.5 Very Fine to Near Mint.  That said we believe that this Title Lobby Card is very presentable as is.
    However, restoration could eliminate the 6 punch holes and the other very minor flaws.   If you are interested in this Title Lobby Card and would consider restoration, just let us know.  We can have it restored for you and just add the cost of restoration to the price of the Card, or we can refer you to one of the professional restoration companies that we use.  Either way, restored or not, this beautiful Title Lobby Card of
