This is an original, rolled, 1/2 sheet theater issued movie poster, 22" x 28", for the 1922 Mary Miles Minter silent film "Tillie."
Note: This poster is ultra rare and possibly the only one in existence. We have seen just a handful of lobby cards for this film ever sold or traded, but never a 1/2 sheet poster. We can not even locate the image on this poster, further leading us to believe it may be the only surviving copy. Many times, very few poster type items survived from the silent film era. We acquired this poster as part of an estate purchase that included many silent film era items. This poster probably sat in storage since the 1920's, which is why it survived in such incredible condition.
This original 1922 half sheet poster is in excellent condition with some minor edge and handling wear, some minor edge and corner dings and bends, some minor spotting on the lower left corner area, a small spot of color loss and paper loss at the upper right corner, and a few minor poster body dings with light color loss. Overall, this poster is in beautiful shape and condition with incredible images and graphics and clear sharp colors. I would grade this poster a 7+, on a 1 to 10 scale.
