The movie starred John Barrymore, Myrna Loy, Frank Reicher and Luis Alberni. A moralistic drama, the film concerns a naive chemistry professor who gets caught up in a domestic scandal. This RKO film was the first picture to ever play Radio City Music Hall. The movie won the National Board of Review's award for Best Film in 1933. The story was also made as a French film, and both movies were based on the play by Marcel Pagnol. Pagnol himself would direct another film with that title in 1936.
