"THE AIR CIRCUS" 1928 WINDOW CARD VINTAGE AVIATION GREAT PARACHUTE GRAPHICS RARE

Description

This listing is for an original window card (approx. 14"x22") for the 1928 "partial sound" film "The Air Circus" directed by legendary Hollywood director Howard Hawks and starring
Arthur Lake, Sue Carol, David Rollins and Louise Dresser.  Made as Hollywood was transitioning to sound pictures, "The Air Circus" was the first talking picture that centered on an aviation theme;
principal photography took place from April to June 1928 at Clover Field, Santa Monica, California and featured Travel Air and Swallow biplanes.  Originally filmed as a silent, 15 minutes of dialog were added to the film before release.
Very little vintage paper relating to this 90-year old film has survived.  This rare window card has terrific, bold graphics and would be of interest to anyone interested in vintage/early aviation, classic Hollywood, or even parachuting.
Condition:  This window card has fresh colors with expected condition issues from age, but they do not detract from its appearance - it could be framed as is or restoration work could be done.  Condition issues of note include some age discoloration/staining, a very faint impession of printed theater advertising in the top blank portion of the card, scattered edge tears (the most noticeable of which is a tear on the left center of the card), a small chip out of the top left hand blank corner, and typical age-related handling wear from theater display, etc.  There is some tape applied to the back of the card that appears to be cloth/archival tape.  Note:  the irregular white shading that breaks the outer edges of the blue background is part of the design, not a condition issue.  Please see the photos for more details.
